Dynamo Special Comment

Busy weekend so let's get started...

Good turnout for Dynamo...obviously not at the level of the previous show(GCW reunion in December) but still good. The crowd energy varied over the course of the night and that may have affected some of the matches. The show started around 8:15 and went about three hours, so maybe some people got burned out. One of my comic friends came to the show for Dan Walsh's match, but he left before the main event because he had to work in the morning.

Card changes: Makaze was scheduled to be in the triple threat match for the next title shot but he was replaced by Billy McNeil. McNeil's scheduled opponent Steven Kennedy was put in his own triple threat with Mark Sterling and Cancun Kid.

Liking Gallagher more when he keeps his feet on the ground. I realize that it's tough to NOT be a high-flyer when you're below a certain size, but it can take some time to find the style that fits.

Had never seen Rudolph's opponent before and had to do some digging for his name(Jake Parnell). Don't know anything about his background or training but he seemed solid enough in the ring. Rudolph's come a long way in the time I've watched him.

Very cool to see Adonis returning to action on a regular basis. A new generation will experience the joy of Jack Adonis promos...bwahahaha. Sharona looked sharp despite his infrequent in-ring appearances. I was there for the match between these two in late 2000 when Sharona suffered his rib injury...wow, I feel old.

Kennedy continues to be one of the most overlooked wrestlers in the Midwest...he took a hellacious bump at one point when he got backdropped over the turnbuckles and ringpost to the floor. Sterling looks very different without his hair.

Yup, I bit on the possibility that the Tag Titles might change hands...well played. Interesting to see this crossover from SICW as this was Vaughn's Dynamo debut as well as Ken Kasa's first appearance under his current name(he wrestled under his old name Ian Storm in December).

The face/heel alignment wasn't too clear for Kevin X vs. Kahagas...Kahagas had to take the brutally-direct route with a kendo stick attack behind the referee's back.

Cruz-Dirden was billed as a battle of undefeated-in-Dynamo streaks. Haven't seen Cruz lose too often around these parts, so it was a surprise to see Dirden get the upset victory(even though Jeremy Wyatt had an indirect assist in the outcome). Dirden is making his first trip to wrestle in Japan after only wrestling for about a year...that's a big step for him in his young career.

It seems like several heels are being lined up to challenge Walsh for the title in the near future...Trent Stone has the next shot, plus K.C. Karrington has his obligatory rematch. Jeremy Wyatt has a case for another shot since Ricky Cruz got involved in the main event. On top of that, several other people got significant wins on this card(Dirden, Kennedy, Rudolph).

Liked the main event...good push for the continuing Cruz-Wyatt feud as well as Walsh-Stone. Who will be OVAH?
