PWC Episode #5

Commentators:  Kevin Hunsperger & Chris Hagstrom.  With the recent streak of non-wrestler abuse, Jerome Cusson took a vacation for his own personal safety.  For his part, promoter Hagstrom wants to keep a close eye on the proceedings and extra security has been added.  Hagstrom notes that Bull Bronson has been suspended for his actions.

Jeff O'Shea & Malaki Mathews vs. Ax Allwardt & J.J. Garrett(w/ Gaylord Stevens & J. Wellington Beauregard):  Allwardt is searching for a regular tag team partner...will Garrett be the one?  Ax is the only one NOT making his PWC debut here...I believe the other three compete for 3XW in Iowa.  Mathews and Garrett start...sportsmanship ensues, much to the chagrin of Garrett's teammate and his management.  O'Shea & Mathews work together to double-team Garrett but J.J. takes out Malaki with a suicide dive.  O'Shea dives onto Garrett with a plancha from the top rope, accidentally taking out his partner in the process...Allwardt finally tags himself in to raise the aggression a bit.  Ax makes an effort to work with his partner and they isolate O'Shea...but Jeff stuns J.J. with a jumping knee.  Allwardt walks away from his corner as O'Shea tags in Malaki...looks like a comeback to me.  AGAIN Ax tags himself into the match when he's good and ready...namely, when J.J.'s trying to jump off the second rope for an aerial move.  Malaki spears Garrett out of the air, but Allwardt's legal and takes out both opponents with a double clothesline.  He tosses Mathews to the floor and finishes off O'Shea with the piledriver...but then Gaylord blindsides Garrett with his umbrella and Ax piledrives his own partner!  So much for that tag team...

Jay Spade is back and ready to win the No Limits Title from his former partner Joey O'Riley.  He feels like he held back in their previous encounter and promises not to make the same mistake this time around.

El Matadoro vs. Alex Castle:  Angelus Layne is absent for unknown reasons...we're told she "taking time to find herself".  We're told Castle and creative direction Adam Testa have issues...Hagstrom says that Testa should stay in the backstage area instead of putting himself in potential harm's way.  On cue, Castle hurls some threats in the direction of the camera and provokes Testa into a confrontation...Castle gets his hands on Testa and security guards(and Hagstrom) have to separate them.  Matadoro tries to take advantage but it doesn't last long as Hagstrom tries to settle Testa down.,.the masked man nearly surprises Castle with a rollup but only gets two.  Castle finally puts him out of his misery with a Diamond Cutter...then he speaks his mind afterwards.  He feels like he still belongs in title contention and repeats his promise to win gold in 2013.  Hagstrom orders the security guards to escort Castle to the backstage area and to keep him and Testa apart.

No Limits Champion Joey O'Riley is ready to defend his title against his old friend and partner.  He won't go easy on him...

Shane Rich vs. Gary Jay(w/ Evan Gelistico & Pierre Abernathy):  Been looking forward to this one.  I suspect embellishment on Gary's billed weight of 750 pounds.  The other Submission Squad members have a Tag Team Title shot at Brandon Espinosa & Ace Hawkins in two weeks on Episode #6.  Rich has been training for Bull Bronson and gives Gary the opportunity to walk away...but Gary spits in his face and IT'S ON.  Rich goes on offense but Gary ranas him into the ropes, then hits a double-stomp from the top as Rich is slumped on the bottom rope!  The Squad members attack but are quickly ejected from ringside...okay then.  Jay rams Rich into the ringpost while they're on the floor...that'll slow him down a bit.  Gary escapes a TKO attempt but Rich gets the better of a chop exchange before Gary low-bridges him over the ropes.  A suplex battle leaves both on the apron and Rich backdrops Gary onto the edge of the ring!  Rich rallies with a spinebuster...for two.  Gary retaliates with a flying Flatliner off the second rope...for two.  Rich blocks a rana and powerbombs Gary...lifts him up and powerbombs him AGAIN...lifts him BACK up into position for the RKO, then goes straight into the dragon clutch for the tapout!  Rich gets the microphone again...he wants Bronson's suspension lifted so they can settle things in the ring.  Hagstrom isn't responding just yet...

Backstage:  Hagstrom demands a public apology from Matt Cage for his comments regarding Heavyweight Champion Heath Hatton and his family.  Cage refuses and wants an apology from HATTON for insulting his wrestling ability, something HE takes personally...Hagstrom blows his top and orders Cage to leave.

Joey O'Riley vs. Jay Spade for the No Limits Title:  The members of "Team xXx" met in the semifinals of AAPW's initial No Limits Title tournament with O'Riley getting the win...Spade announced afterwards that he was taking a break from the ring and this is his return to action.  This is also the first defense of the No Limits Title...handshake~!  YAY WRESTLING~!  FLIPPIES~!  It doesn't take long for them to get more aggressive...O'Riley lands relatively unscathed after bring thrown out of the ring but Spade nails the plancha.  Back in for a released German suplex...for two.  They trade strikes until O'Riley dropkicks Spade off the apron, then hits a moonsault press off the edge of the ring!  Joey brings him back inside, but he misses a 450 Splash(!) and Spade covers...for two.

Spade slows the pace a bit, but Joey fights his way back into things...Steamboat Press gets two.  Slingshot DDT is blocked and Spade dropkicks him to start his own rally...they fight on the top rope and Spade hits his own Steamboat Press for his own two-count.  O'Riley fires back and gets the slingshot DDT on the second try, but can't cover right away and only gets two.  Spade ducks a spinkick and backslides him...for two.  Spade sets up for something but gets backdropped out of the ring where Spade rams O'Riley into the steel steps.  Re-entry leads to another fight on the turnbuckles and Joey hits the superplex, leaving both men down.

The two slug it out in mid-ring...Spade's tigerdriver is countered into a takedown of some sort and O'Riley dropkicks him...for two.  Spade small package...for two.  O'Riley backslide...for two.  Spade finally hits a modified double-underhook DDT, but he takes a second too long to cover and only gets two.  He goes for the finisher again but O'Riley double-legs him into a jackknife cradle...for two.  They slug it out again and Spade gets the upper hand with European uppercuts, but he runs into a dropkick from O'Riley and that gets the win out of nowhere!

Post-match, will we get mutual respect?  The handshake is offered and accepted...we're good.

On Episode #6 in two weeks:  Heath Hatton vs. Matt Cage for the Heavyweight Title, plus Brandon Espinosa & Ace Hawkins vs. The Submission Squad for the Tag Team Titles.
