SICW Special Comment

Another fine crowd in East Carondelet...

The first half of the show seemed talk-heavy but things balanced out by the end of it...Keith Smith took a surprise slam through a table at the end of the contract signing segment. It was a lot of legal babble about appearance bonds and such...if Ricky failed to appear, he'd be stripped of the title, If Flash failed to appear, he'd be barred from SICW until further notice...something Flanagan felt was slanted in favor of Cruz. They also enforced a no-contact clause which led Flanagan to the attack on Keith(since he couldn't attack Ricky).

Not fond of handicap matches in general(unless it's a big guy against total cannon fodder). This one worked to an extent due to the infighting between Shorty and Archer...plus Texan's double-underhook powerbomb is looking really good these days.

The custom-made engraved crystal "Championship Cup" for Ken Kasa was wonderfully cheesy...

Gallagher's had some solid outings lately, good for him.

The show featured some "straying from the format" as the advertised main event was kickstarted early...that left Chaz/Hargas vs. Kasa/Vaughn to close the show. It had been a while since I'd seen Bull Schmitt(I wasn't at the previous SICW show he worked)...I'd probably have to go back to the WLW TV show on PAX from several years ago.

Cruz-Hatton hadn't been hyped much beforehand(I only knew about it from one of Ricky's Facebook posts)...since the big title match with Flanagan had been set up for the Argosy show, this was a non-title match. Ricky seemed to be the subtle heel by default...Heath definitely had a few fans in his corner on this night.

Texan has his share of fans in East Carondelet as well, but he still seems to be a heel as he interfered in Waco's match with Kevin X.

Odd finish to the final tag match with the time-limit draw...but Chaz keeps surprising me with his desire to do huge dives. I've been watching that guy jump off high places for quite some time...heh.

The Argosy show has been stacked to say the least...and that's on top of the list of legends appearing for the weekend. Been seeing the billboards advertising the show around the St. Louis area.

The rest of April:

Friday 4/19: St. Louis Anarchy in Alton, IL
Saturday 4/20: SICW in Fairmont City
Saturday 4/27: MECW in Wood River
