The curse of better weather is hitting local wrestling as both Dynamo and South Broadway had lower crowds than their previous outings...MMWA still had a decent turnout, all things considered.
Andrew Wilder defeating Mephisto was a surprise(though he had to blind him with powder to do it)...hey, it's an undercard feud!
One of the only two tag teams in MMWA breaks up...ugh, so much for that division. Matt King blamed Chase for, among other things, screwing up his dive attempt at last month's show(Matt slipped off Chase's back and hit the floor hard). On top of that, the angle was rushed straight into a singles match between the Kings later in the same night. Maybe they were just shorthanded?
The only card change was the absence of Phil E. Blunt...he was scheduled to team with Brian James against T.V. Champion Jimmy D and The Big Texan. Texan faced Flaming Freddie Fury in a singles match while D defended his belt against James. If nothing else, I'm glad that's the feud and James is being pushed toward the title.
Espinosa-Williams was just getting good when the DQ happened...this feud MUST CONTINUE~!
Not sure if Tim Miller messed up his announcement...almost positive it was Osborne who accidentally knocked the referee down. The outcome would have been the same either way(DQ finish so the belt doesn't change hands).
At any rate, they've already set up the T.V. Title match for next month(D vs. James no-DQ with Texan barred from ringside). Osborne is intent on facing challengers other than Gary Jackson while Espinosa-Williams continues for the Jr. Heavyweight Title.
The rest of the month looks like this:
4/13: SICW in East Carondelet
4/19: SLA in Alton, IL
4/20: SICW in Fairmont City
4/27: MECW in Wood River
