Pro Wrestling Collision #6

Commentators:  Kevin Hunsperger & Chris Hagstrom.

Brandon Espinosa & Ace Hawkins vs. The Submission Squad(Evan Gelistico & Pierre Abernathy)(w/ Gary Jay) for the Tag Team Titles:  The Squad are announced "at an embarrassing weight"...they do have a size advantage over the champs.  Espinosa & Hawkins keep Gelistico in their corner with quick tags in the early minutes.  However, a blind tag on the Squad's side leads to Hawkins falling prey to a kick combo by Evan and Pierre.  Gelistico busts out the GIANT SWING~!...wow.  Ace turns the tide, but Evan yanks Espinosa off the apron JUST in time to prevent a tag.  Gary Jay adds a cheapshot outside the ring that the referee doesn't see, so it's basically three-on-two.  Gelistico uses a modified stump puller and turns it into a pinning combination...for two.  The Squad's cutoff attempts finally backfire and Espy gets the hot tag...the house is on fire!

Even Gary Jay takes a hit, but the numbers are too much and Gelistico hits a modified Go 2 Sleep, leading to Pierre nailing Espy with the Culture Shock!  Hawkins barely breaks up the pin in time.  The Squad sets up for a double-team on Hawkins, but Espinosa dropkicks Pierre as Hawkins maneuvers into a DDT on Evan!  The champs double up on Evan...Hawkins hits a somersault Ace Crusher and Espinosa follows up with the frog splash.  Pierre re-enters and gets into a striking exchange with Espy, but Evan inserts himself with a Flatliner out of nowhere and Pierre gets Espy in the Crippler Crossface!  Ace knocks Gelistico backwards into his partner to break up the hold, then springboards into a clothesline on Evan.  Gary grabs Hawkins but Pierre accidentally hits his cornerman, allowing Hawkins to nail the suicide dive on Evan.  That leaves the legal men in the ring and Espinosa hits Pierre with the Combover to retain the Tag Titles!

Reed Bentley is making his Collision debut tonight...

Mikey McFinnegan vs. Reed Bentley:  Alex Castle joins the broadcast team(making Hagstrom very uneasy) and says he's still looking for a new tag partner...perhaps Bentley.  Of course, he's still got issues with creative director Adam Testa.  McFinnegan fares a bit better here than he did in his debut against Bull Bronson...he even hits a nice Asai moonsault to the floor.  Bentley is known as a striker but Mikey gives as good as he gets...until Reed blocks a suicide dive with a forearm to the mush.  He follows that up with a hanging inverted neckbreaker onto the edge of the ring...OW.  Mikey comes back with a released German suplex but Bentley curbstomps him to the mat...for two.  The momentum swings a few times until Mikey tries one too many leaps from the top rope and gets FOREARMed out of the air...that'll do it.  I believe the pop-up version of his finishing forearm smash is known as the Reed Awakening.  Castle goes to the ring for a talk with Bentley...and the two shake hands.

Matt Cage does the talking for Zakk Sawyer...but touches on his own big match tonight as well.

Farmer Billy Hills vs. Zakk Sawyer:  The winner of this match earns a title shot of his choosing.  Zakk attacks from behind...to little effect.  The farmer dominates for a while, but Sawyer is able to turn it around after a few well-placed strikes.  Hills breaks out of a headlock with a back suplex but Sawyer shows surprising resilience by cutting him off quickly.  Zakk finally makes the mistake of going to the top rope and gets slammed to the mat...cue the bionic elbows!  Sawyer comes back with a slingshot spear that catches Hills in the knee, but the farmer mows him down with a LARIATOOOOO...for two.  Sawyer escapes a modified sleeperhold by running Hills into the turnbuckles, then takes him down with a version of the Tazmission...he gets him in a bodyscissors on top of that and shockingly the arm drops three times for the Sawyer victory!  Zakk has earned a shot at Joey O'Riley for the No Limits Title...good for him.

Heavyweight Champion Heath Hatton isn't about to talk about his respect for Matt Cage...because he has none.

Heath Hatton vs. Matt Cage(w/ Zakk Sawyer) for the Heavyweight Title:  Cage made this personal by insulting Hatton's young daughter...now IT'S ON.  Heath rushes Cage at the opening bell and beats him down right away...Cage rolls out to regroup but Hatton follows him to the floor.  Sawyer tries to interfere and gets rammed into the ringpost for his efforts.  Cage surprises Heath with a knee to the face, but Hatton blocks a dropkick and goes back on offense.  The referee has to get between the two, allowing Cage to yank Hatton throat-first into the middle rope...that'll turn the tide.  The commentators note the past history between the two, noting that Cage & Christian Rose once took advantage of the absence of Hatton's partner(Curly) to defeat Hatton in a two-on-one situation(for the AAPW Tag Titles).  Heath tries to fight back with pure power but Cage cuts him off with his trademark strikes.

Hatton gets an opening to hit the missile dropkick, leaving both men down...but Heath recovers first and rallies.  He gets a few near falls, but Cage blocks the H2KO(falling DDT) and hits a roundhouse kick and Zigzag...for two-and-a-half.  They trade strikes in mid-ring with Cage getting the upper hand but Heath gets a La Majistral cradle...for two.  Cage counters a spinebuster with a DDT and goes to the top for the Macho Elbow...but only gets two-and-a-half!  Tigerdriver is countered into a swinging neckbreaker by Heath...for two.  The two fight for an advantage until Cage tries a springboard off the middle rope and gets caught in a spinebuster.  H2KO...no, Cage rams Heath back into the corner and takes out the ref in the process.  Cage runs in with a forearm, but Heath sidesteps and the ref gets nailed AGAIN.

Hatton hits the H2KO but there's no ref to count...Sawyer grabs the title belt, but the ringside security guards are on the ball and surround him.  Zakk gets through the crowd but somehow trips over his own feet on the run-in...wow.  Cage hits a low blow and Codebreaker and the injured ref crawls over to count three...Heath gets a foot on the bottom rope but the ref doesn't see it and Zakk swats it off after the fact.  Hagstrom immediately rushes to the ring and grabs the belt before Cage can get it, calling for a restart!

Cage grabs the belt as security gets tied up with restraining Sawyer...but Joey O'Riley shows up at ringside and grabs the belt away from him, allowing Heath to roll up Cage...for two.  Hagstrom pulls the belt out of the ring for good as the fight rages on...Heath and Cage fight on the ropes and it ends with Hatton delivering a modified H2KO off the top rope!  Yup, that's enough for the three-count as Hatton retains the title!  Hagstrom demands that Cage be thrown out of the building by the security guards...meanwhile, Heath celebrates with his belt to close the show.
