Show results

Saturday MECW results from Wood River, IL

-Shawn Santel d. Count Kharfu(w/ Tag Team Champion Sarin Sinn & Mizfitt Manners) to retain the Independent Title; Sinn accidentally hit Kharfu with his bat at one point, allowing Santel to capitalize with a swandive headbutt off the top rope for the victory. Kharfu attacked Santel after the match, laying him out with a Stungun and backcracker.
-Mizfitt Manners(w/ Caitlyn) d. Mauler McDarby; Caitlyn pulled Manners out of the way of McDarby's charge into the corner, allowing Mizfitt to get the rollup win.
-Eric Allen(w/ Leon Alexander) d. Barry Ryte to retain the Great Plains Title; Leon's distraction gave Allen the opening to punt Ryte below the belt and get the win with a rollup and handful of tights. Allen attempted to do some post-match damage but was planted with the Ryte Of Passage.
-Mike Anthony & Sarin Sinn(w/ Caitlyn) d. Evan Money & Buddy Roberts Jr. by DQ to retain the Tag Team Titles; the match ended on a questionable call by the official as Sinn brought out brass knuckles while the ref was arguing with Roberts(who I'm PRETTY sure was legal). Money got a hold of the knucks and nailed Sinn with them, but the referee turned around at that moment and called for the disqualification.
-Justin Reno(w/ Tag Team Champion Sarin Sinn & Mizfitt Manners) d. Heavyweight Champion Bailey Mannix by DQ; chaos broke loose at the end of the match as Sinn pulled the ref out of the ring as Mannix seemed to have Reno pinned after the Mannix Depression(modified Death Valley Driver). The other members of Sinn Enterprises ran interference, but the use of the Monster Energy Drink sign(SPONSOR~!) backfired this time and Mannix took the offensive. An enraged Mannix delivered a sick curbstomp on Reno onto a chair outside the ring, but the referee called for the disqualification after this action(despite allowing Sinn's actions earlier in the match to go unpunished). Mannix brought out a wooden door and set it across two chairs, then dropped Reno through it with the Mannix Depression! Mauler McDarby(acting as ring announcer for the main event) announced a Mannix-Reno title match for the next show on 8/27, saying it would be a "Let's Make A Deal Match" where you won by smashing your opponent through a door!
