NWA Anarchy TV #291

Your hosts are Tim E.D. & John Johnson.

Youth Gone Wild vs. The Texas Tornadoes(Jacob Kilgore & Galan Ramirez)(w/ Rudy Boy Gonzales) for the Tag Team Titles: Rudy Boy's list of trainees is quite impressive and includes some guy named Shawn Michaels. NWA Anarchy alumni from his school include Todd Sexton, Masada, and Tony Stradlin. Anthony Henry takes some double-team abuse from the Tornadoes...we're told that Dustin Knight is recovering from a recent ankle injury, something Johnson(manager of The Ambassadors) dismisses as a lame excuse to dodge his proteges.

For my own reference, Ramirez is the one with the long hair. Johnson lists other Texas Wrestling Academy alums who have competed in the NWA Arena, but meanwhile Knight has received a blind tag and YGW unleash some of their own double-team magic on Kilgore. The Tornadoes cut off Knight with a wheelbarrow/Fameasser combo but can't put him away. Rudy Boy adds some abuse from outside the ring and the Tornadoes deliver a double-hiptoss-catch-double-neckbreaker tandem move! Kilgore is way too slow to cover and Knight manages to kick out at 2 1/2.

Knight's in trouble at the hands of the newcomers...Kilgore picks up Knight in a fireman's-carry, Ramirez double-stomps Knight in the back from the top rope, then Kilgore drops Knight ribs-first onto Ramirez's knees! Only an arrogant cover by Kilgore allows Knight to escape defeat after that. A double-team backfires and Knight fires off a flying neckbreaker on Kilgore, then finally reaches his corner to tag in Henry! The house is on fire as Henry suplexes both challengers out of their boots, then Ramirez falls victim to the stereo enzuigiris in the corner. Double-team Go 2 Sleep is delivered and Knight(having tagged back into the fray) pins Ramirez for the victory...impressive showing for the newcomers but the champs hang onto the gold.

Jeff G. Bailey(w/ Se7en) meets with Dan Wilson(w/ Azrael) backstage...next week's main event is Mikael Judas & Kimo vs. Se7en & Azrael so they plot some strategy. Wilson says that they can't trust each other at the end of the day and would stab each other in the back(earning a funny look from Jeff G.), but they have common enemies on this occasion...

Jacob Ashworth vs. John Skyler for the Young Lions' Title: Skyler escapes a sleeper attempt by sliding over the ropes to snap Ashworth's throat off the top rope, then follows up with a missile dropkick. Skyler controls for several minutes...but a Lionsault hits the knees and Ashworth starts El Big Comeback. Skyler surprises Ashworth with a Flying Chuck kick to score a near-fall, but Ashworth maneuvers him into Ashes-To-Ashes to retain the title. Aden Chambers(another Johnson protege) suddenly hits the ring and grabs the belt, leading to Skyler trying to grab for the belt and Billy Buck entering the fray as well. General Manager J.T. Talent announces a gauntlet match for Hostile Environment for the next shot at the Young Lions' Title...but Ashworth won't be defending at that show because he'll be challenging for the NWA North American Title against the winner of this show's main event.

The main event is scheduled to be Shaun Tempers defending the NWA North American Title against Shadow Jackson, but Shadow isn't in attendance due to travel problems. General Manager J.T. Talent says that Tempers will still have to defend his title against a man who won a Mega Rumble for a title shot of his choice...too bad the commentators kinda spoiled this switchup at the top of the program. Oops? :)

Shaun Tempers vs. Skirra Corvus for the NWA North American Title: Tempers would have preferred a night off...he's schedule for an upcoming match involving the NWA World Title. Corvus should really get submissions off that Cattle Mutilation variant with the opponent in a seated position. Johnson notes that both men were under the management of Dan Wilson at one time, so they should have some knowledge of each other. Solid matchup between these two...the fans are still being sold on Corvus as a face. Corvus nearly wins with the springboard splash, but Tempers retaliates with a German suplex for his own near-fall. Tempers goes to the second rope but gets yanked off the top rope and Corvus follows with the Perfect Necksnap off the top rope...for 2 1/2. Tempers cuts him off with a jawbreaker but nearly gets caught in the Graveyard Shift...and Bo Newsom runs in for the DQ?!? Wow. Tempers & Newsom double-team Corvus until Brodie Ray Chase hits the ring and the heels bail.

Next week: Mikael Judas & Kimo vs. Se7en & Azrael.
