Wrestling TV

WWE NXT5.com

Live(on a slight delay) from St. Louis, MO...your hosts are Jack Korpela & S. William Regal.

J.T.G. & Darren Young kick off the show...after their recent run of success, they have their eyes on tag team gold. However, Jimmy & Jey Uso take issue with this...as long as the tag team division seems to have a safe haven on this show, we might as well have a feud. A fan yells out to J.T.G. that "Shad was better!"...ouch. J.T.G. insults the Usos' family and then bails from the ring with Young...sounds like a main event to me.

Yoshi Tatsu vs. Jinder Mahal: With Yoshi's new look, maybe some different music is in order. Looks like the lower rungs of the WWE ranks are continuing to find their way to this show...nothing wrong with that as long as they get some time to work. Korpela notes that Mahal's WWE TV debut was a win over Yoshi...we'll see if history repeats itself. This match definitely lasts longer than their previous contest...Yoshi fights out of a superplex but misses the spinning heel kick off the top rope. That gives Mahal the opening to finish with the Sands Of Time v2.0(full nelson slam)...was definitely a tougher fight this time around.

Hornswoggle meets up with Titus O'Neil and A.J. Lee backstage...the midget seems to understand that Maxine Perez is just trying to break them up. However, he's apparently going to spend more time on Smackdown rather than on NXT(by virtue of a lengthy greeting card that Titus reads for him). Even A.J. has to comment that SHE'S on Smackdown TOO...heh.

Percy Watson vs. Tyson Kidd: OH YEAH~! I miss the glasses. Kidd outmaneuvers Percy with his aerial offense...but Watson can take to the air himself. Showtime Splash gets a two-count, but Percy goes to the air once too often and Kidd kicks him off the ropes. Swinging fisherman buster sets up a springboard elbowdrop from three-quarters of the way across the ring and that seals the deal for the last graduate of the Hart Dungeon.

Matt Striker interviews Mahal...Mahal doesn't want to hear about The Great Khali as he's focused on his own career now.

Jimmy & Jey Uso vs. J.T.G. & Darren Young: The commentators note that J.T.G.'s claims of being a tag team specialist aren't exactly founded in reality as he has a grand total of zero Tag Team Title reigns on his resume...heh. Korpela notes the importance of winning NXT, then realizes he only has Wade Barrett to use as a positive example(Kaval's gone, Kaitlyn Bonin and Johnny Curtis are barely on TV). Young takes out Jimmy Uso with a sick back suplex onto the edge of the ring apron...OW. Regal notes the point of repeated attempts at a pin cover(forcing the opponent to exert energy to kick out). J.T.G. and Young do a great job of cutting off the ring...but Jimmy gets in a desperation Samoan Drop on J.T.G. Tags on both sides and Jey's a grass hut afire! Jimmy re-enters the fray for a double superkick on J.T.G., then Jey escapes the Strongbuster to land a singular superkick on Young! Tag to Jimmy to finish the job as they land the Headshrinker Splash, allowing Jimmy to pin Young for the win. The Usos celebrate their victory...but remember what I said about the lower echelon finding its way here? BAM, Tyler Reks and Curt Hawkins attack the Usos from behind! Ladies and gentlemen, we have a tag team division again.

TNA XPlosion

Brutus Magnus(w/ Douglas Williams) d. Jesse Sorensen; the referee was distracted by Williams and Kid Kash ran out to shove Sorensen off the top rope, allowing Magnus to win with the Mag-Daddy Driver.

TNA Impact

Brian Kendrick won a five-way ladder match with Alex Shelley, Jesse Sorensen, Shiima Xion, and Kid Kash for the X-Division Title shot at Austin Aries at Bound For Glory, retrieving the contract from above the ring. Aries did commentary for the match.

Jesse Neal(w/ Shannon Moore) vs. Tag Team Champion Shawn Hernandez(w/ Anarquia, Sarita Stock, & Rosita Fly) never started as the heels jumped the faces in the aisleway and destroyed them, ending with Sarita & Rosita tagging them in spraypaint with "MA" for "Mexican America". Ink Inc. had a close encounter with the tag champs at a tattoo parlor last week(as seen in a WACKY VIGNETTE~!).

Madison Rayne d. Women's Tag Team Champion Tara Varon with a double-leg pin and feet on the ropes to qualify for the four-way dance for the Women's Title at Bound For Glory.

"The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero d. Ken Anderson; Brother Devon's sons got physically involved when the fight spilled out of the ring, sparking an argument between Pope, Devon, and his sons. The referee was occupied with restoring order at ringside and didn't see Bully Ray climb over the guardrail and bash Anderson with a kendo stick...it wasn't clear if Pope was aware of that interference, but he still re-entered the ring and covered Anderson for the three-count.

Bobby Roode d. A.J. Styles; Roode avoided the Pele Kick(FAMILIARITY~! as almost everyone gets hit by that) and got him in the Crippler Crossface for the tapout.
