Saturday MECW Results From Wood River, IL + Other Show Results

The show opened with members of Sinn Enterprises(Heavyweight Champion Justin Reno, Count Kharfu, & Tag Team Champion Mike Anthony) hitting the ring...Reno demanded to know the identity of his opponent for the night...the fans in attendance were shocked when the long-absent Gabriel Brimstone made his entrance! However, "Brimstone" shook hands with the members of Sinn Enterprises and unmasked to reveal Tag Team Champion(and MECW owner) Sarin Sinn. Sinn revealed that he had competed under the hood as Brimstone before making his own name in MECW...then Eric Allen made his entrance. Allen antagonized Sinn and Reno until Reno finally demanded that Allen be reinstated so he could face him in the ring!

Shorty Biggs(w/ Eric Allen) d. Tag Team Champion Sarin Sinn(w/ Attorney Vern); Troy Seals(who Sinn had fired at the previous show) distracted Sinn, allowing Shorty to get the rollup pin.

Dave Osborne d. Ace Hawkins by countout when Hawkins walked out on the match.

Count Kharfu d. Shawn Santel in a dog collar match to win the Independent Title; the match was extremely violent as the two used the chain to their advantage and dished out several abuse with a steel chair. The referee was knocked down and Santel hung Kharfu over the top rope with the chain, but there was no one to count the pin on the ensuing cover. Kharfu was able to recover and wrap the chain around Santel's throat from behind, adding extra emphasis to his signature backcracker. Ace Hawkins ran into the ring to count the pinfall and Sarin Sinn came out to declare the victory(and title change) official...then introduced Hawkins as the newest member of Sinn Enterprises.

After intermission, Sinn declared that the vacated Great Plains Title(previously unified with the Heavyweight Title in the Bailey Mannix-Eric Allen Ironman Match) would be awarded to the winner of the next matchup...

Mauler McDarby(w/ Mr. K) d. Brandon Espinosa after ducking the big knockout punch and maneuvering him into a version of his signature heart punch, winning his first-ever singles title!

Mike Anthony & Sarin Sinn d. Joey & Troy Seals to retain the Tag Team Titles; the match resulted from Sinn wanting retribution for Seals' involvement in his earlier contest. Anthony & Sinn were able to keep Joey isolated from his corner and took out his leg(after repeated eyerake attempts failed to slow down the masked man), but Seals finally tagged into the matchup. However, Sinn took advantage of his experience edge to lure Seals into a Flair Pin with feet on the ropes for the cheap victory.

Justin Reno d. Eric Allen to retain the Heavyweight Title thanks to the unwelcome presence of Sarin Sinn as special guest referee. Allen appeared to have control of the matchup but Sinn finally took matters into his own hands by delivering a DDT. This brought Shorty Biggs into the picture, but Reno threw Shorty out of the ring before he could get his hands on Sinn. Allen took Reno down into a Boston crab and Sinn physically pulled Reno to the ropes to force a break...Allen confronted Sinn and Reno took out Allen with a low blow, then put Allen in his own Boston crab and Sinn called for the bell without Allen submitting, awarding the match to Reno.

After the match, Mauler McDarby and Mr. K joined Allen and Shorty in the ring...Sinn felt untouchable and was understandably stunned when McDarby bopped him with the microphone. :) Allen challenged Reno to face him again at the next show(date not yet announced)...after much goading, Reno finally accepted.
