Since the previous Dynamo show, there's been a slight shakeup in the Midwest wrestling scene as the groups formerly associated with the NWA have reportedly split from the group. There have been rumors of an association with the Japanese Zero-One promotion but I haven't heard anything definite. At any rate, that means the NWA Central States Title held by Jeremy Wyatt and the NWA Missouri Title held by K.C. Karrington are seemingly no longer in play. In response to that, Dynamo is working on establishing its own championships, starting with a tournament for the Tag Team Titles...I would imagine a singles belt will be in the works soon as well.
Card changes: Trent Stone and Steven Kennedy were both absent(SSK was said to be injured). That opened the door for Chris Hargas to make his Dynamo debut as Dan Walsh's replacement partner while Adam Rich teamed with another member of the Church Of Karrington, Dice.
Pretty good crowd, though the noise and energy level seemed to be a bit down.
There was a distinct lack of heels in the tag title tournament as we had two and a half heel teams in the tourney and they were all eliminated in the quarterfinals. Wonder if Kennedy & Rich were supposed to go farther, but the world may never know.
Jon West showed impressive agility for a guy his size...nice showing for his Dynamo debut.
Interesting start to the Wyatt-Kevin match as Wyatt gave Kevin a chance to leave...Kevin left the ring, but snuck around behind Wyatt so he'd think he HAD left. Kevin then rolled him up and the referee made a three-count...but Wyatt noted that the opening bell hadn't rung so it didn't count. Heh. Mark Sterling ran interference to help Wyatt get the cheap win via chain.
Billy McNeil was announced as hailing from The Basement Of The Alamo...well played, sir.
The second tag match had a rough finish...for whatever reason, Jamie Lyte didn't go for the pin on Adam Rich after a Lionsault and then a springboard legdrop from Billy. Dice hit him with a chair for the DQ...but they didn't have a folding chair available so he used a metal non-folding chair which is...difficult to use as a weapon. :P
I joked that the MsChif/Makaze tandem could have been Christmas-themed due to their respective color schemes(green/red)...Magic Man even had red hair colors on one side of his head and green on the other side. Makaze debuted new black ring attire, which was a surprise as I don't think I'd ever seen him without the standard red gear.
Didn't expect Sean Vincent and Jackal to be on the same page...and they weren't. Looks like a potential feud between those two...it was Vincent's first match since his recent neck injury, good to see him back in the ring.
Surprise choice for the finale of the evening...Ricky Cruz continues to make an impact on the Midwest wrestling scene with a big win over the established Mark Sterling. He also worked the South Broadway show earlier in the evening...
Speaking of the MMWA show, Ace Hawkins captured the Jr. Heavyweight Title from Johnny Courageous...and the Heavyweight Title match between Gary Jackson and Brandon Espinosa ended in another disqualification.
Next weekend has MECW with the fallout from the anniversary show(Sarin Sinn seemingly in control, Justin Reno as the new Heavyweight Champion, Bailey Mannix and Eric Allen both gone)...there's also SICW with Ron Powers defending the Classic Title against Ricky Cruz, Gary Jackson vs. Chris Hargas, and MsChif making her East Carondelet debut against Serenity.
