NXT + XPlosion

WWE NXT5.com

Your hosts are Josh Mathews & Matt Striker.

Percy Watson vs. Tyler Reks(w/ Curt Hawkins): Hawkins joins the broadcast team for the opener...he claims the cane is "doctor-prescribed" due to his recent injury. Reks cuts off an early offensive with a Flatliner into the turnbuckles...but the corner proves to be his undoing as a blind charge hits the ringpost shoulder-first. Showtime showcases his power and agility advantage...OH YEAH~! Showtime Splash gets a near-fall. Hawkins leaves the broadcast booth and the distraction allows Reks to deliver a cheapshot...Tyler goes to the top but gets dropkicked in mid-leap! That's enough for the three-count, but Hawkins delivers a post-match cheapshot for fun.

Backstage, Johnny Curtis flirts with Kaitlyn Bonin...prompting a semi-jealous response from Maxine Perez. Curtis blows her off...and Curtis walks out just as Derrick Bateman walks in. Bateman introduces Maxine to his mother...who does not feel like seeing her son's heart broken and tells Maxine in no uncertain terms.

Yoshi Tatsu & Trent Barreta vs. Tyson Kidd & Johnny Curtis: Kidd & Curtis have teamed up in the past but I believe this is the first time Yoshi and Trent have joined forces. Tatsu & Barreta show some good teamwork in the early going...but Kidd runs interference, allowing for some double-teaming on his side. Trent takes some abuse but fights out of a belly-to-back superplex attempt to deliver a Whisper In The Wind! Tags are made on both sides and Yoshi rallies against Curtis...KICKS~! ensue. Yoshi goes to the top rope but Curtis avoids the spinning heel kick...KICK WHAM FALCON ARROW and Curtis gets the surprise victory!

Recap of Piper's Pit from Raw with John Cena. "Rise Above Hate" is a noble attitude...but it would make for a really boring wrestling show if everyone thought like that.

Alicia Fox vs. Maxine Perez: Took a second for me to remember that Alicia was Maxine's mentor back in NXT3...of course, I'm the only one to remember that or care. Bateman and his loving mother come out to watch from the entranceway...Maxine gets a modified dragon clutch but the brief distraction allows Alicia to power out of the hold. Alicia follows up with the flippy legdrop and that's the ballgame. Maxine is furious that her fiancee came out...she's upset when he DOESN'T come out, she's upset when he DOES come out. Sounds like a typical relationship to me.

Titus O'Neil vs. Derrick Bateman vs. Darren Young: The winner of this match will get booked in a match on next week's Smackdown...which worked out so well for Bateman a few weeks ago, but hey, it's actual television exposure. Young bides his time as Titus overpowers Bateman, but quickly jumps in to break up an early pin attempt. Young tries to go aerial only to be slammed off the top rope...and Bateman breaks up THAT pin cover. O'Neil whips Young into the turnbuckles and Darren Flair-Flips out of the ring...between that and the slam off the turnbuckles, Striker jokes that this seems familiar somehow. :) The heels finally get on the same page to wear down Titus...of course, only one man can win and the teamwork doesn't last. Young cuts off Bateman's attempted top-rope move and attempts the superplex, but O'Neil gets into position to powerbomb Young in mid-move to complete the Tower Of Doom! Titus cleans house and battles Young on the apron, but Darren delivers a neckbreaker onto the edge of the ring...however, Bateman dropkicks Young off the apron and steals the pin on O'Neil for the victory! Bateman gives his victory speech and asks his fiancee to join him in the ring...but she doesn't appear. Instead, we get J.T.G. and Tamina Snuka...according to them, Maxine left the building with Curtis. Ouch.

TNA XPlosion

Your hosts are Jeremy Borash & Taz.

Frankie Kazarian vs. Brutus Magnus, Maximum Impact Tournament: Kazarian has a strong start but goes aerial once too often and Magnus clips the knee. Magnus focuses his attack on the leg for several minutes but Kaz counters a shinbreaker attempt by going up and over into a sunset flip...for two. Kazarian can't run the ropes because of the damage to the leg, allowing Magnus to regain control...but Kaz fights out of a superplex to hit a guillotine legdrop! El Big Comeback ensues but Magnus powers him back into the turnbuckles...only to run into a sunset flip out of the corner. Magnus reverses the pinning predicament into one of his own and grabs the ropes, but this week the referee is on the ball and sees it. Magnus confronts the ref and that allows Kazarian to surprise him with a rolling prawn cradle for the three-count!
